(Aliso Viejo, CA) Several athletes from the Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field Team turned in noteworthy performances at the Soka University Indoor Qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 22.
In the 60-meter run, Mahlaya Salter placed third with a time of 7.97 seconds. Athena Perla finished third in the 400-meter run, clocking in at 1:04.24.
Elizabeth Chidester (2:37.70) and Crystal Vongphrasouk (2:42.97) placed second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run.
Team A (Alia Scott, Janiah Brown, Faith Sutton, Alicia Victoria) turned in a time of 3:53.41 in the 4 x 400 relay, good enough for first place. Team B (Bobbi Hill, Salter, Aja Hill, Nia Arceneaux) placed third at 4:09.32.
Carly Ewing cleared a height of 2.97 meters to finish second in the pole vault. Chidester's toss of 10.56 meters earned her a third-place finish in the shot put.
The Mounties will next compete in the Cerritos College Open Multis on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27-28, in Norwalk.
