Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field represented well at Arnie Robinson Invitational

(San Diego, CA) Several Mt. SAC women's track and field athletes turned in impressive performances at the 2019 Arnie Robinson Invitational held at San Diego Mesa College on Friday.

The 4x400 relay team of Kayla Rodriguez, Jasmine Garcia, Lizette Manese, and Maia Harvey took first place in the event, turning in a time of 4:20.72.

Rodriguez clocked in at 1:05.39 in the 400-meter hurdles, good enough to place third in the event. Manese (2:36.20) finished in fourth place in the 800-meter run. Garcia (15.90 seconds) took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.

Darla Gonzalez (3.95 meters) and Amy Campos (3.35 meters) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the pole vault. Mayara De Souza and Kiersten Wilbourn tied for fifth in the event with vaults of 3.05 meters.

Rebecca Ruiz placed second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:00.36, while teammate Montserrath Celis clocked in at 5:13.49 for a third-place finish.

In the 5,000-meter run, Alyssa Armendariz placed second with a time of 19:54.28 and Melanie Esquivel took fourth, finishing at 20:59.81.

Yesenia Flores (12:35.58) and Evelyn Peralta (12:41.17) represented well in the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing in second and fourth place, respectively.

Elizabeth Chidester captured third in the shot put with a distance of 10.30 meters and tied for fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.40 meters. Gianna Jacoub finished third in the hammer throw at 35.80 meters and fifth in the discus throw at 35.78 meters. Leah Mitchell placed fourth in the hammer with a toss of 31.37 meters.
