Walnut, Calif. – Behind a show-stopping performance from Spencer Damaske, the Mt. SAC Women's Swim and Dive Team powered their way to a second-place finish at the South Coast Conference Pentathlon on February 6 at the Mt. SAC Aquatics Center.

The Mounties totaled 307.4 points to place second among eight teams in the field. Conference rival Long Beach City College claimed first with 336.2 points, while El Camino rounded out the top three with 266.5 points.

Mt. SAC opened the meet with a strong showing in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Damaske, Emily Robertson, Megan Venegas, Megan Medina, and Sarah Tolmasoff touched in at 2:01.00 to earn third place and set the tone for the day.

From there, it was the Spencer Damaske show.

Damaske put together a dominant sweep of the individual events she entered, capturing four first-place finishes. She started with a win in the 200 IM, clocking a 2:14.38, then followed it up with victories in the 100 Fly (1:02.46), 100 Back (1:03.15), and 100 Breast (1:10.71). Her all-around performance was a major point boost for the Mounties and one of the standout efforts of the entire meet.
