Mt. SAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Defeat LBCC, 158-106; DeAnda Wins Three Events

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Swimming & Diving Team remain undefeated in South Coast Conference dual action, with a 158-106 win over visiting Long Beach City College Friday (3/15) at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Complex.

The Mounties, who have won 30 dual meets in a row, dating back to the 2015 season, finished first in 10 of the 15 events. They improved to 3-0 in SCC dual action this season.

Leading the way for the Mounties was sophomore Erin DeAnda, with three first-place finishes and Colleen Gamboa with two.

DeAnda won the 200 Freestyle (2:06.83), 200 Backstroke (2:24.23) and the 200 Individual Medley (2:20.72).

Gamboa won the 100 Free (58.24) and the 500 Free (5:57.08).

Single event winners were Miranda Silva in the grueling 1000 Free (13:00.25), Kiani Lopez in the 100 Breaststroke (1:16.44), Kaitlin Howard, 100 Back (1:09.25) and Journey Barreto in the 1-Meter Diving (119.75 points).

As a team, Mt. SAC also won the 200 Medley Relay with DeAnda (Back), Lopez (Breast), Howard (Fly) and Gamboa (Free).
