Mt. SAC Women Finish 21st in the CCCAA State Swimming & Diving Championships

(Monterey Park, CA) Over 198 women competitors from 47 Community Colleges from all over California swam in the final event of the season in the California Community College Athletic Association State Swimming and Diving Championships at East Los Angeles College last Thursday through Saturday.
As a team the Mt. SAC Women's Swimming & Diving team finished in 21st place.
Mt. SAC, which is coming off of its third South Coast Conference championship in the last four years, was represented with five individual competitors and two relay teams.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Dickinson led the Mounties with a seventh-place finish in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:16.62 and the Mt. SAC 800 Freestyle relay team placed tenth with a time of 8:15.51. Dickinson also placed 12th in the 400 Individual Medley.
Swimming for the relay team was Dickinson, freshman Angelica Quesada and sophomores Hannah Schmidt and Jazzie Hernandez.
The Mounties finished 14th in the 200 Medley Relay with Dickinson, Hernandez and freshmen Jerica Djapri and Nikita Rubio on the team.
Quesada, who swam in three individual events, placed ninth in the 200 Free with a time of 1:58.49 and placed 11th in the 500 Free and 16th in the 200 Backstroke.
Also swimming in three events was Djapri with a 16th place finish in the 100 Back, 17th in the 100 Butterfly and 18th in the 200 Back.
Freshman diver Haley Service placed 15th in the 1-Meter event.
