(Walnut, CA) Following a scoreless first half, No. 4 seed Mt. San Antonio College (19-1-1) scored three times to secure a 3-0 victory over visiting No. 13 Allan Hancock College (15-2-5) in the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Region playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 19.

The Mounties' Kayla Allen broke the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal in the 54th minute, then Ayuka Toshimoto added an unassisted goal in the 88th minute to put the hosts up, 2-0. Karissa Vela accounted for the final goal in the 90th minute on an assist from Toshimoto.

Leila Peregrina tended the goal for all 90 minutes for Mt. SAC, but the team's tight defense did not require her to make any saves.

In the next round, the Mounties will host South Coast Conference rival and No. 5 seed Long Beach City College (16-2-3) on Tuesday, Nov. 22. This will be the third contest this season between the division winners. The Mounties won the first matchup, 1-0, in an SCC crossover game on Oct. 14, then again for the conference title on penalty kicks, 5-4, in the SCC Tournament final on Nov. 11.
