Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Advances on Overtime Goal by Sanchez, Top-Seed Cypress Next

(Walnut, CALiani Sanchez scored a match-winning overtime goal to lift host Mt. SAC (14-6-2) to a 2-1 victory over College of the Canyons (12-6-4), in a play-in match of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional playoffs on Thursday night.

The Mounties' Jacquelynn Coronado scored the match's first goal in the 53rd minute on an assist from Sanchez. The Cougars responded with a goal in the 85th minute to tie the match, 1-1. Sanchez' unassisted decisive score came just one minute into overtime.

Gabrielle Leon played the entire match in goal for Mt. SAC, tallying three saves on the night.

The Mounties will take on top-seed Cypress (17-0-3), at Cypress College in the first round of the CCCSA Southern California Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m.
