(Costa Mesa, CA) Mt. SAC freshman golfer Kayla Loera was the low medalist in the Orange Empire Conference Match No. 3 on Monday (September 26) at Costa Mesa Country Club (Mesa Linda).
Loera bested a field of 37 golfers with the 1-over-Par 71, and as a team, the Mounties finished 6th overall.
"I'm proud to report that individually we had a player on our team get the lowest tournament score (Monday)," Mt. SAC Women's Golf coach Art Guevara said.
Finishing first in the OEC Match, which was hosted by Orange Coast College, was Saddleback with a 321, followed by OCC (341), Fullerton (349), Mt. San Jacinto (357), College of the Desert (360), Mt. SAC (374) and Cuyamaca (394).
Kayla Loera was followed by her sister, Kaitlyn Loera (84), Emilia Hickman (95) and Brooklyn Davis (124).
The Mounties will continue OEC play with Match No. 4 at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo Wednesday (Sept. 28). The event will be hosted by Saddleback College.
