(San Jacinto, CA) In the second Orange Empire Conference match of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Golf team placed fifth with a team score of 389 at Soboba Springs Country Club on Wednesday (September 14).
With the fifth-place finish, the Mounties (4-8) remain in the fifth position in the OEC after the second of eight matches.
Finishing first for the second week in a row was defending OEC Champion Saddleback with a team score of 324. Fullerton, College of the Desert and Mt. San Jacinto finished second through fourth.
Overall, Saddleback is in first with a perfect 12-0 record.
Leading the way for the Mounties was freshman Kayla Loera with a third-best 78 in the round.
Loera has a two-event average of 80, which is tied for fifth after two matches.
Other Mountie scores were Kaitlyn Loera (84), Brooklyn Davis (112) and Emilia Hickman (115).
OEC Match No. 3 will be held on Monday (Sept. 26) at Costa Mesa Country Club. The event is hosted by Orange Coast College.
