Mt. SAC Women’s Golf Qualifies for Southern California Regionals!

(San Dimas, CA) In the final Orange Empire Conference match of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Golf team finished third and qualified for the CCCAA Southern California Regional's.

In OEC Match No. 9, the Mounties (342) placed third behind first-place College of the Desert (336) and Saddleback (340) at Via Verde Country Club Wednesday (Oct. 23).

"I am so proud of our team," Mt. SAC Women's Golf coach Greg Osbourne said. "We have qualified for the Southern California Regionals. 

"I'm glad that we haven't peaked yet and we will continue to improve and play our way into the (CCCAA) State Championship."

Heading into the conference tournament next week (Oct. 28, 30) at Los Serranos CC, COD is in first with a 62-1 record, followed by Saddleback (51-12) and Mt. SAC (49-14). Cuyamaca (32-24) remains in fourth, Mt. San Jacinto (24-39, 5th), Palomar (21-41, 6th), Orange Coast College (8-47, 7th) and Fullerton (0-54, 8th).

The low medalist on the par-72 course was Raegan Preece of COD with a 76, followed by Mt. SAC's Precious Saelee with an 80. 

Saelee (76.3) and Katie Stribling (77.1) of Saddleback remain in the battle for the top golfer in conference with two rounds remaining at the conference finals.

Cristina Liu carded an 83 (T for 4th overall) for second for the Mounties, followed by Katherine Chan (86), Lisa Romero (93) and Kima Blake (113).
