Mt. SAC Women's Golf Takes Second at OEC Match No. 5

(Costa Mesa, CA) At the halfway point of Orange Empire Conference Women's Golf action, Mt. SAC holds down second place after its third second-place finish in match play.

The latest second-place finish took place at the Mesa Linda Golf Course in Costa Mesa Wednesday (Sept. 18). The event was hosted by Orange Coast College.

Precious Saelee placed second for the second time this season with a 76, just one stroke behind medalist Katie Stribling of Saddleback College.

Both Saelee and Stribling are in a virtual tie for the conference individual lead with a 76.0 scoring average.

Mt. SAC remains second in the OEC behind undefeated College of the Desert with a perfect 35-0 standing.

The Mounties hold a one-win advantage over Saddleback (27-8) with a 28-7 record. Both Saddleback and Mt. SAC have been battling this season for the second spot in the standings. They are well ahead of fourth-place Cuyamaca at 20-15.

The Mounties' Katherine Chan (fourth overall) shot an 80, followed by Cristina Liu (83), Lisa Romero (92), Kima Blake (102) and Malaysia Thompson (116).

The Mounties take a break at the midpoint of conference action and will travel to Morro Bay for the North/South Invitational at the Morro Bay Golf Course.
