
(Banning, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Golf Team captured the Mt. SAC's first conference championship of the new season by winning the 2015-16 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship with an impressive total of 689, over 36 holes (344, 345). The Mounties were able to stay consistent over the last 18 holes to narrowly defeat first day leader, College of the Desert (693), by four strokes. The two day tournament was held at the Sun Lakes Golf Course, in Banning (CA) this past Monday and Wednesday (October 26th and 28th).
"I am very proud that our team was able to accomplish our number one goal," replied first year Head Coach, Greg Osbourne, who was named the 2015 OEC Women's Golf Coach of the Year. "Due to the Support of our staff and administration, we were able to come together very quickly and play up to the high standards of the Mt. SAC Athletics Program."
Sophomore Sarah Juelch was second overall individually with a two day score of 162 (84-78). Freshman Victoria Rodarte was 1st Team All-Conference and Freshmen Marissa Valencia and Tiffany Lin earned 2nd Team All-Conference Honors.

By winning the OEC Conference Championship, the Mounties will advance to the CCCAA SoCal Championships which will be held at the Alisal River Golf Resort, in Solvang, on November 8th and 9th.
