(Walnut, CA) With Mt. SAC Women's Basketball coach Brian Crichlow emptying his bench and 10 of the 12 players scoring in the game, the Mounties defeated the visiting El Camino Warriors 75-43, on Friday (January 6) in a non-conference game.

Leading the way for Mt. SAC was freshman guard Dailani Richardson (7-10 FGM-A, 1-2 3 PM-A, 2 Ast., 1 Stl.) with 15 points.

Also in double figures was sophomore forward Kameria Piggee (5-8 FGM-A, 2-2 FTM-A, 3 RB, 1 Blk.) with 12 points.

Kamesha Moore and Jamya Mickens each had nine points for the Mounties.

Brandy Castaneda was virtually the only player to score for El Camino with a game-high 23 points.

Richardson, who has her family visiting from Ohio at the game, scored six points (three layups) early in the opening quarter.

"They came from out of state (family members) and my cousin also plays basketball and we always compete with each other," Richardson said. "I feel like it's always good to have a support system like that."

The win was the sixth in a row and eighth out of the last nine for the Mounties, who improved to 12-6 overall.

"It (winning streak) feels amazing, honestly, and I'm going to keep fighting and keep winning. We have a tough week next week."

Mt. SAC plays non-conference games at Long Beach City College and Cerritos next week before opening South Coast Conference action at home against East Los Angeles College on Wednesday, January 18.

"She is stepping up for us and leads the team in minutes," said Mt. SAC Women's Coach Brian Crichlow, of Richardson. "She gives us another scoring punch and is one of our better defenders.

"If you can get that from a freshman that takes a load off the sophomores."

The Mounties took a 22-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back for the win. The Mounties also had 22 and 20-point outputs in the third and fourth quarters.

"Our pre-season schedule was ridiculous," Crichlow added. "All of our losses have come from top 10 teams in the state, and we've learned a lot.

"Our conference is a gauntlet and we're battle-tested."
