Women's Basketball defeats East L.A. in SCC North game, running win streak to 12

(Monterey Park, CA) For the twelfth game in a row, Mt. San Antonio College (19-3, 4-0) was victorious, this time against East Los Angeles College (15-6, 3-1) in a 64-57 South Coast Conference North Division win on Wednesday. The Mounties and Huskies are ranked No. 2 and No. 5, respectively, in the Jan. 31 California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association South Region Poll.

Trailing 42-40 through three quarters, Mt. SAC outscored East L.A., 24-15, in the fourth to seal the win.

Mina Guevara-Goss scored a game-high 16 points for the Mounties, as teammates Kamesha Moore and Allyah Cartajena added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Cartajena's 12 rebounds was the most of all the players on the night.

With 15 points, Delilah Kimble-Gray was the top scorer for the Huskies.

Mt. SAC will travel to Pasadena City College (8-9, 1-3) for an SCC North game on Friday, Feb 4, at 7 p.m. The current California Community College Sports Information Association's state poll ranks the Mounties at No. 4.
