(Visalia, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team, with a 23-point fourth quarter, defeated Chabot, 60-48, in an opening game of the 45th Annual Gilcrest Invitational Thursday (December 2) at Porter Fieldhouse in Visalia on the campus of the College of the Sequoias.
Trailing by two after three quarters, 39-37, the Mounties (7-2) outscored Chabot, 23-9, to win going away and advance to the tourney semifinals against College of the Canyons (7-0) Friday (Dec. 3).
Mt. SAC was led by freshman forward Sanaisha Morgan (5-9 FGM-A, 7 RB) with 11 points and sophomore guard Savanna Norfleet (5-8 FGM-A, 3 Asst., 3 Steals) added 10.
Freshman guard Jamya Mickens (4-4 FGM-A) added eight points and four players – Mina Guevara-Goss, Skylarr Little, Allyah Cartajena, and Briana Lizardi – all scored six points each.
