Mt. SAC Softball Ends Regular Season with Numerous Accolades and Conference Championship.

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Softball "Team 22" did not skip a beat when Head Coach Ruby Rojas took a maternity leave of absence.  Coach Jim Bollier kept them right on track for their fifth consecutive South Coast Conference (SCC) Championship and a #1 seed in the upcoming California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Playoffs.  

As a team, the Mounties (37-3) ranked amongst the state's top 5 in home runs (32, 5th) and total bases (579, 5th).  In the conference, the Mounties led in home runs (21, 1st ) and finished top three in runs batted in (143, 2nd ), runs scored (152, 3rd ) and extra-base hits (63, 3rd).

During the course of the season, Mt. SAC compiled an 11-game streak (January 28 – March 2) and is currently on a 20-game streak, dating back to March 19th.

Taking top honors in the SCC was First Baseman Brianna Goris, who was named Player of the Year (.584 BA, 14 HR, 46 RBI, 21 doubles) and Coach Jim Bollier who was named Coach of the Year.  Goris led the SCC in batting average, home runs and RBI's.  

First Team All-SCC selections include Grace Pieson (pitcher), Emily Barba (outfield) and Ariana Coronado (shortstop).

Asia Chacon (second base) and Haley Moran (outfield) earned Second Team All-SCC honors. Honorable mention went to Serena Navarrete (pitcher).

As the number one seed in the CCCAA SoCal Playoffs, the Mounties will host the No. 16 Moorpark. The first game of the best-of-three series will start Friday, May 6, at 5 pm. Game 2 will be on Saturday, May 7, at 4 pm and if necessary, game 3 will be on Saturday, at 7 pm.
