Mt. SAC Softball shuts out Cypress, 1-0

Cypress, CA – The Mt. SAC Softball team scored a solo run in the fourth inning and made it stand up for the 1-0 victory over host Cypress College Thursday (May 27) afternoon.

With the win, the Mounties end up this shortened season with an 11-5 record and look forward to a full schedule of games in 2022.

Sophomore Annalisa Panuco pitched seven innings, scattered four singles and struck out five batters.

The left hander finished up the season with a 6-2 record.

Both Cypress and Mt. SAC won two games each in the four-game series.

Sophomore left fielder Mikenna Barcelona (2 for 3, R, SB) led the Mounties with two hits.

With two outs in the fourth inning, Barcelona singled, stole second and came home on a single to right field by sophomore first baseman Natalie Gonzalez.
