(Santa Ana, CA) Mt. SAC had its second two-hit shutout in a row with a 3-0 win over host Santa Ana College Friday (April 30).

On Tuesday (April 27) Grace Pieson pitched six innings of shutout ball and Friday Annalisa Panuco (3-3), went the distance (seven innings), allowing just two singles and struck out six.

The Mounties (5-4) now have won four of their last five games with the win.

Mt. SAC got all it needed in the fourth inning with a two-out rally scoring two runs.

With runners on first (Mikenna Barcelona) and second (Brianna Mills), Valerie Alcala reached on an error and Mills scored from second for the 1-0 lead.

The next batter, catcher Brooke De La O (1 for 3, RBI), singled to left, which brought in Barcelona for the 2-0 lead.

The Mounties added a third run in the seventh inning when centerfielder Emily Barba scored from third on a ground out from shortstop Ariana Coronado (1 for 4, Dbl., RBI).

Mt. SAC travels to Moorpark to conclude its four-game series with a doubleheader.
