Mt. SAC Softball's Ally Longtree, Briana Wheeler and Coach Ruby Rojas Earn Top South Coast Conference Honors

(Walnut, CA) The 2019 Mounties Women's Softball Team (36-4) captured the top three South Coast Conference (SCC) Softball Honors after going a perfect 22-0 to win the program's fourth consecutive SCC North title (12th overall). The four consecutive titles have come under 7th year Head Coach Ruby Rojas (268-52; .883 win %), who collected her fourth straight SCC Coach of the Year honor. It was also the second time that Rojas coached the Mounties to a perfect conference season of 20 wins or more (21-0 as a single 8-team conference in 2013).

Sophomore Briana Wheeler (21-1, ERA 0.78, 186 Ks; 134-1/3 IP) captured Pitcher of the Year honors for the second consecutive year. Sophomore centerfielder Ally Longtree (.427, 5 HR, 5 triples, 21 RBI, 22 SB) was named Player of the Year. 

First team honors went to sophomores Candace Haliburton (.398, 4 triples, 22 RBI, 23 SB), Ciara Granado (.370, 8 HR, 34 RBI), Vicky Gutierrez (.434, 3 HR, 29 RBI), and freshman Alexia Silvas (11-2, 0.82 ERA, 88 Ks; 85.2 IP).

Second team All- SCC honors went to Adriana Ramirez (.319, 37 RBI, 6 HR), Quinn De Avila (.404, 14 RBI, 5 Dbls) and honorable MENTION went to Jessika Trujillo (.330, 27 RBI, 8 SB).

The Mounties head into the playoff riding a 14 game win streak and are looking to defend their 2018 CCCAA State Championship.
