Mt. SAC Softball Remains Perfect in SCC at 13-0, with 11-0 win over ELAC

(Monterey Park, CA) Mt. SAC sophomore pitcher Briana Wheeler pitched four hitless innings and Alexia Silvas getting the final three outs, for mercy rule no-hitter as the Mounties defeated East Los Angeles College, 11-0, in a South Coast Conference game Tuesday (3/26).

Wheeler, with four strikeouts, allowed only three base runners in the game.

The win was the 12th shutout of the season for the Mounties of their 20 wins against only three losses.

Leading the way for the Mounties was centerfielder Ally Longtree (3 for 3, Tpl., 2 Rs, 2 RBIs, SB), while catcher Adriana Ramirez (1 for 2, R, 2 RBIs) hit a two-run home run.

Mt. SAC scored in four of the five innings, with three in the first, a pair of runs in the second and fourth innings and four in the fifth. The 10 hits marked the 14th time this season they have hit in double figures.

The Mounties continue SCC action with a game Thursday (3/28) as they host Rio Hondo. On Saturday (3/30) the Mounties play two games at Cypress. The first game is at 10:30 am against Citrus, followed by a 3:00 pm game against host Cypress.
