(Walnut, CA)  For the second consecutive year the Mt. SAC Softball Staff was named the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) California JC Coaching Staff of the Year.  For the third year in a row, Head Coach Rubilena Rojas was named the South Coast Conference (SCC) All-Sports Women's Coach of the Year.

The Mt. SAC Softball Staff of Rojas, Jim Bollier, Alex Mascarenas, PJ Leon and Michelle Evans led the Mounties to the 2019 SCC and California Community College State Championship for the second consecutive season.  The Mounties finished the season with an undefeated conference record of 22-0 and an overall record of 44-5, which marked the programs fifth consecutive 40+ win season.

Rojas becomes the first coach in SCC History to capture 3 consecutive all-sports women's coach of the year honors.  This year marked her second career state championship leading the Mounties. The former Venezuelan Olympians award marked the 12th SCC All-Sports Coach of the Year honor for a Mt. SAC Coach in the past ten years.
