Actually, the game was a completion of a February 23rd contest halted by darkness.
Mt. SAC (11-0) had the game in hand, 5-2, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh before a three-run home run by the Falcons tied the game and was suspended.
After Mt. SAC returned a week later to complete the game, it took five additional innings before the offense broke through with five runs, which was highlighted by two home runs in the 12th inning.
Mandy Larios (2-5, 2 RBIs, run) singled in Bree Maikai for the go-ahead run, 6-5.
Kayla Sok (2-6, 4 RBIs, 3 runs) had the big hit of the game with a three-run shot, scoring Carissa Felix and Larios and Taylor Jaurique (3-7, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) finished the inning off with a solo home run.
Aleyah Wilbon (5-7, Double, run) was the hitting star in the marathon game, which saw 58 plate appearances by Mt. SAC batters in the near five-hour game over the two days.
The 16-hit attack was the second of the season for the Mounties.
Sophomore pitcher Racqual Espinoza (9 Ks) started the first seven innings and Tiffany Kennedy-Cummings (5-0) finished up on Wednesday allowing only a hit and struck out seven.
