
(Walnut, CA) Softball Head Coach, Rubilena (Ruby) Rojas, has been selected as a World Baseball Softball Confederation Ambassador (WBSC). The mission of the WBSC is to reinstate the sports of baseball and softball, into the 2020 Olympic Games. Sixteen professional baseball and softball players from throughout the world have been selected to serve as Ambassadors including American Softball Superstars Jennie Finch, Monica Abbott and Michele Smith.
Rojas, a 2008 Beijing Olympian representing her home country of Venezuela, has also represented Venezuela at the 2007 Pan American Games and at the World Cup of Softball. Rojas is active in the sport of softball also serving as a role model in the Empowering Women and Girls through Sport Initiative where she has traveled to Nicaragua to teach under privileged girls through softball clinics and conversations about leadership and overall health.
Rojas is in her first year at the helm of the Mt. SAC Softball Program and has led her team to a fantastic, 35-4, regular season record which has earned them a playoff berth.
