(Bakersfield, CA) Posting 61 points, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Cross Country team finished in first place at the 2022 SoCal Preview hosted by Bakersfield College at the Kern County Soccer Park in Bakersfield on Friday, Sept. 23. Bakersfield (74 points) and Riverside College (79) finished in second and third, respectively.
In a field of 247 runners on the four-mile course, five Mountie runners finished in the top 20. Jesus Alvarado was the top Mountie runner, turning in a time of 18:45.1, good enough for second place. Max Loera (21:10.9, 13th place), Jonathan Aguilar (21:14.1, 14th), Elijah Ocegueda (21:18.0, 17th), Andres Chavez (21:25.5, 20th) accounted for the other Mt. SAC top-20 placings.

Following a two-week break, the Mounties will compete in San Diego Mesa College's Manny Bautista Invite at NTC Park in San Diego on Friday, Oct. 7.
