(Fountain Valley, CA) Ranked No. 1 in the state heading into the Southern California Regional Championships at Mile Square Park on Friday, Mt. SAC (57 points) finished second as a team behind No. 2-ranked San Diego Mesa, which tallied 44 points. With 62 points, Riverside came in third.
The Mounties' Daniel Abdala was the race's top finisher with a time of 19:12.4. Teammates Jesus Alvarado (3rd, 19:43.3), Zackary Alexander (13th, 20:21.2), Elijah Ocegueda (19th, 20:31.7), and Angel Perez (21st, 20:36.9) accounted for the top-25 finishers from Mt. SAC.
The Mounties head to Fresno next where they will compete in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships at Woodward Park on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 9 a.m.
