Mounties take three of four top individual spots at Mt. SAC Invite, finish second as team

(Walnut, CA) In spite of taking three of the top four spots individually, Mt. SAC placed second as a team with 35 points behind Hartnell (29 points) at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invite on Friday. Glendale came in third with 92 points.

Elijah Ocegueda finished first in a field of 136 for the Mounties, turning in a time of 21:22.7. Teammates Jesse Alvarado (21:37.1) and Zackary Alexander (21:40.5) placed third and fourth, respectively.

Jalen Griego (14th place, 22:15.3), Yair Torres (15th, 22:18.4), and Angel Perez (18th, 22:40.5) rounded out the top-20 finishers for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties will take a couple of weeks to prepare for their next meet, the South Coast Conference Championships, which will take place at Compton College on Friday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m.
