(Riverside, CA) At the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, Mt. SAC placed eighth as a team in the open division and 12th in the invite division. Both divisions consisted primarily of four-year colleges.
In the open division, John Martinez was the highest finisher for the Mounties, placing 50th in a field of 165 with a time of 26:54.8. Teammate Freddy Montes finished in 59th place at 27:05.3.
Daniel Abdala was the top finisher for Mt. SAC in the invite division, turning in a time of 24:37.8, good enough for 25th place. Jesse Alvarado placed 51st for the Mounties at 25:09.9.
Next up for Mt. SAC is the Golden West Invitational at Central Park in Huntington Beach on Friday, Sept.24, at 9 a.m.
