(Oxnard, CA) Mt. SAC took first place with 17 points at the Oxnard College Cross Country Invitational on Friday. Moorpark came in second with 52 points while Bakersfield finished third with 75 points.
Six Mounties turned in top-10 times, including the top three spots: Jesse Alvarado (20:18.5, 1st place), Daniel Abdala (20:21.0, 2nd place), and Jalen Griego (20:25.4, 3rd place). Elijah Ocegueda (20:43.7, 5th place), Zackary Alexander (20:48.4, 6th place), and Jonathan Pfeiffer (20:59.9, 10th place) rounded out the group.
It bears noting that Angel Perez turned in a time of 21:00.2 to place 11th, just three-tenths of a second behind teammate Pfeiffer.
Next up for Mt. SAC is the UC Riverside Invite at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 9 a.m.
