Cerritos hands Mt. SAC Men's Water Polo its first SCC loss

(Norwalk, CA) Mt. SAC (9-13, 3-1) suffered its first South Coast Conference defeat, a 9-7 setback at the hands of host Cerritos College (12-8, 4-1) on Wednesday.

Trailing 5-2 at halftime, the Mounties scored three in the third to pull within two, 7-5, but that was as close as the score got.

Luke Noblett led Mt. SAC in scoring with three goals as teammate Adam Dow added a pair. Trevor Ingersoll tallied a team-high two assists. Noblett also led the team with three steals, while Diego Lopez, Nicholas Brock, and Ingersoll had two each.

Mountie goalkeeper Noah Stark played all four quarters in goal, making 13 saves.

Mt. SAC will host Long Beach (15-3, 4-0) in an SCC game on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings are currently ranked No. 2 in the state.
