(Moorpark, CA) Coming off its state championship season in 2022, Mt. San Antonio College started its 2023 season at the Moorpark College Season Opener on Friday, Feb. 3. In a field of 10 schools, Mountie athletes turned in five first-place, seven second-place, and five third-place finishes.
First-place finishers for Mt. SAC included Jacob Williams (60 meters), Nicholas Vargas (300 meters), Kerry Smith (600 meters), Ethan Amata (pole vault), and Matthew Mannino (javelin).
Christian Baker (60-meter hurdles), Marcus Monroe (high jump, long jump), Jesus Arias (pole vault), Justin Beltran (pole vault), Jerry Roberts (triple jump), and Tylor Connelly (hammer throw) accounted for the Mounties' second-place finishes.
Mt. SAC athletes who finished third in their events included Jake Jensen (60 meters), Adam Chavez (600 meters), Darrian Robinson (triple jump), Cory Gamero (discus), and Michael Stine III (javelin).
