Mountie Men's Track Team Perform Well at Moorpark Invite

(Moorpark, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field team participated in the Moorpark Open on Friday, May 14. Several Mountie athletes performed well, leaving the competition with strong finishes.

Vincente Huerta finished first in the 800-meter run for the Mounties, turning in a time of 1:57.50, and second in the 1500-meter race at 4:00.40. Teammate Daniel Abdala came in fifth in the 1500 at 4:06.53.

In the 110 hurdles, Mt. SAC's Matthew Uballe took first with a time of 14.40 seconds, while teammate Miguel Alcaraz came in third at 15.16 seconds.

The Mounties' 4x400 relay team of Giovany Cuevas, Aaron Mahlow, Phillip Ulloa, and Alexander Miles captured the top spot, finishing at 3:24.74. Second place in the event went to the Mt. SAC team of Jared Arrellano, Max Daniels, Yanai Macon, and Aidan Carrillo, which clocked in at 3:26.19.

Shallamar Poole placed first in the High Jump for the Mounties, clearing a height of 2.00 meters as teammate Eleazar Pu'u finished third at 1.80 meters.

In the pole vault, Mt. SAC's Brandon Gilbert (3.30 meters) and Gonzalo Orozco (3.20 meters) finished second and third, respectively.

Myles Massie took first in the Long Jump for the Mounties with a leap of 6.82 meters and second in the Triple Jump at 14.65 meters. Teammates Dylan Lau (13.16 meters), Jarrod Sanchez (12.79 meters), and Jaime Minaya (12.49 meters) finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the Triple Jump.

Mt. SAC's Joshua Tan made a throw of 54.53 meters, good enough for second in the Hammer.

In the decathlon competition, Andrew Aguilar tallied 6,718 points to finish second for the Mounties.

Next up for Mt. SAC is the Redlands Invite on Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 and 20.
