Mounties Men's Track and Field Competes in Two Meets, Turns in Solid Performances

(Los Angeles, CA) At the Cal State L.A. Invite on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-29, and at the Cerritos Open Heptathlon/Decathlon on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27-28, several Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field athletes turned in impressive performances.

Next up for the Mounties is the Cal State Long Beach Opener on Friday and Saturday, March 6-7.

Cerritos Open

With 5,345 points, Andrew Aguilar placed third as teammate Adam Chavez compiled 3,842 points to finish sixth.

Cal State L.A. Invite

In the 100-meter run, Ilias Garcia took first with a time of 10.27, while teammate Robert Thompson placed second at 10.61. Joey Fox placed fifth in the event, clocking in at 10.80.

Keeshonne Robinson turned in a time of 48.56 to finish third in the 400-meter run. Gregory Hennes finished fifth in the same event with a time of 50.42.

Max Petrosian (1:57.82), Joshua Potts (1:58.45), and Isaiah Wilson (1:59.35) placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the 800-meter run.

Wilson (4:01.03), Daniel Abdala (4:01.87), and Potts (4:05.20) took the top three spots in the 1,500-meter run. Vicente Huerta placed fifth at 4:14.63)

In the 3,000-meter run, Zackary Alexander took second, turning in a time of 8:48.79, as teammate Huerta finished at 8:57.28 to place third.

Three Mounties captured top-five finishes in the 110-meter hurdles, including Matthew Uballe (2nd, 14.43), Aaron Mahlow (4th, 15.25), and Miguel Alaraz (5th, 15.35).

The 400-meter hurdles saw Gavin Gordan (1:01.18) and Justin Scalf (1:01.46) place second and third, respectively.

Team A (Robinson, Severin Ramirez, Hennes, Fox) finished second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:15.86, while Team B (Robert Taft, Mahlow, Dakari Douglas, Ledger Hunt) placed third at 3:25.18.

Shallamar Poole cleared 1.95 meters to claim second in the high jump, and Demond Moore placed fifth with a jump of 1.85 meters.

In the pole vault, Jacob Camarena placed first with a vault of 4.50 meters, while teammate Justin Beltran cleared 4.35 meters to take second. Ryan Lopez and Nick Gutierrez tied for third at 4.20 meters.

Scalf and Alcaraz jumped 6.31 meters in the long jump to tie for fifth.

Nathan Wong finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 12.98 meters.

Joshua Tan turned in top-five performances in the shot put (1st, 14.00 meters), discus (3rd, 39.44 meters), and hammer throw (2nd, 51.35 meters).

Race Hare finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 27.57 meters.
