Mt. SAC Men's Track and Field Athletes Perform well at Arnie Robinson Invitational

(San Diego, CA) Mt. SAC athletes from the men's track and field team made their marks at the 2019 Arnie Robinson Invitational held at San Diego Mesa College on Friday.

The team of Aaron Mahlow, Gregory Hennes, Robert Taft, and Travion Phillips took first in the 4x400-meter relay turning in a time of 3:30.31. A team of fellow Mounties made up of Jalen Robledo, Nathan Gordon, Phillip Ulloa, and Justin Minor placed third in the event with a time of 3:37.99.

Calvin Oury tied for first in the pole vault at 4.45 meters, while teammate Ryan Lopez placed tied for third with a vault of 4.30 meters.

In the triple jump, Isaiah Mitchell finished second with a leap of 13.71 meters and Jarrod Sanchez took third with a distance of 12.88 meters.

Joseluis Pluma captured second in the 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 15:49.21. Teammates Travis Cetti (16:04.11), Adrian Hernandez, Jr. (16:10.72), and Kevin Reed (16:14.44) finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the event.

With a time of 10:50.60, Kurt Kaihara finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Leroy Williams IV placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.72 seconds. Minor (15.38 seconds) and Mitchell (15.96 seconds) finished in fifth and sixth in the event, respectively.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Mahlow took third place with a time of 55.93 seconds.

Phillips finished tied for third in the high jump with a leap of 1.95 meters, while teammate Shallamar Poole cleared a height of 1.90 meters to take fifth.

Jose Melchor (4:04.48) and Luis Huerta (4:06.93) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run.

Long jumpers Mitchell (6.44 meters) and David Ripley (6.38 meters) finished in fourth and tied for fifth places in the event, respectively.

Javier Sandoval Guzman took fifth place in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.90 meters.Follow
