(Walnut, CA) In the match between two of most powerful track and field programs, known as "The Duel," the Mt. SAC Men defeated Riverside City College, 100-45. This was the fourth "Duel" between these two programs and the first time the Mountie Men came out on top. Led by the sprint (60M, 300M, 600M, 4X100M, 4X400M) and hurdle corps (60M H and 400M H), the Mt. SAC men were able to score 54 points in these seven events. The Mounties also swept the top three places in the 2 mile run and pole vault. Overall the Mt. SAC Men captured 12 of the 16 events.
On the women's side, the Mountie Women fell a short of defending last years "Duel" win, losing to the Tigers, 55.5 to 84.5. The Mountie Women captured seven individual events, but the Tigers depth in the field events, where they captured every event except for the Hammer Throw, was the difference.
