(Torrance, CA) With the first of two post-season competitions completed, Mt. SAC's Sebastian Burgos and Maximus Sandoval finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in both the 1 Meter and 3 Meter events in the South Coast Conference diving finals on Friday and Saturday (April 15,16) at El Camino College.

The next diving competition, which is the CCCAA State Championships, will take place at East Los Angeles College on May 5-7.

Burgos finished 10th overall in the 1M and 11th in the 3M competition, while Sandoval was 17th and 16th in those events, respectively.

Ellis Stagg was 22nd overall in the 1M and 7th in SCC placing.

"We are very excited about what the men were able to accomplish," Mt. SAC Swimming coach Marc Ruh said. "We will come into the conference championships with 70 points (30 points ahead of LBCC). That is a huge boost for the team. We are very proud of them."

The upcoming SCC Swimming Championships will take place Thursday through Saturday (April 21-23) at East Los Angeles College.

In the competition, each dive has a degree of difficulty, with each judge determining points based on a 1-10 scale. A high and low score is then thrown out for the final score.
