Mt. SAC Men's Swimming & Diving Team Earns Scholar All-American Honors

(Walnut, CA)  The Mt. SAC Men's Swimming and Diving Team earned Spring 2020 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Honors.  The Mounties were one of four men's community college teams to earn the prestigious team honor.  Individual Scholar All-American honors were also awarded to Alexander Hung (FR, Diamond Bar H.S.), Marcus Lira Campaigniac (FR, Glendora H.S.) and Jonathan Olvera (SO, Glendora H.S.).  

"Our program is humbled to receive this great honor," replied Men's Swimming Head Coach Marc Ruh.  "It recognizes that with the help and support of the administration, support staff, professors and coaches, our student-athletes attain success in the classroom and in the pool."

The men's team posted a team G.P.A. of 3.20 to earn the honor, while individually Lira Campaigniac posted 4.00, Olvera 3.65 and Hung 3.50 G.P.A.'s respectively.

Individual awardees must maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.50, along with exceptional swimming accolades (normally those who qualified for the highest post season competition level of their collegiate season).

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
