Mt. SAC Men's Soccer finishes regular season with SCC crossover win against L.A. Harbor, SCC Tourney next

(Walnut, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (13-5-1, 5-3-1) closed out its regular-season schedule with a 6-0 South Coast Conference crossover victory against visiting Los Angeles Harbor College (2-16, 1-8) on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Andrew Vazquez scored a pair of goals for the Mounties, both on assists from Alex Mendez. Edward Castro (Felipe Cobian assist), Frank Gonzalez (Vazquez assist), Christian Barboza (Ivan Morales assist), and Ernesto Figueroa (Andrew Resendiz assist) accounted for the rest of Mt. SAC's scoring.

Goalies Jacob Cardenas (45 minutes, one save) and Daniel Ramirez (45 minutes) combined to keep the Seahawks scoreless.

By virtue of head-to-head competition, the Mounties, though tied with Rio Hondo College (10-7-3, 5-3-1) in the SCC North Division, finished the regular season in first place. The Mounties defeated the Roadrunners, 2-1, on Oct. 4.

Mt. SAC will next compete in the SCC Tournament, which gets underway on Friday, Nov. 4.
