(Whittier, CA) In both teams' final game of the regular season, No. 3-ranked Mt. SAC (13-2-1, 7-1-1) defeated No. 12 Rio Hondo (11-3-4, 5-2-2) by the score of 3-1 to claim the South Coast Conference North Division title.
Like they have all season, the Mounties used a balanced offensive attack against the Roadrunners with goals from Eddie Cabrera (Alex Mendez assist), Mendez (Matt Palos assist), and Anthony Vargas (Andrew Vazquez assist).
Winners of five of the last six, Mt. SAC has earned a first-round bye in the upcoming SCC Tournament, which begins on Friday, Nov. 5. The Mounties will resume play on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Time and opponent are yet to be determined.
