Mounties run win streak to five with SCC win over L.A. City

(Los Angeles, CA) In a South Coast Conference matchup, Mt. SAC (7-1, 2-0) handed host Los Angeles City College (4-6-3, 0-2) a 4-2 defeat on Friday night.

A pair of goals by Alex Mendez sparked the Mounties' offense, which also included scores by Paul Iniguez and Andrew Vazquez (Fabian Hernandez assist).

The Cubs had nine shots on goal during the game, seven of which goalie Jacob Cardenas (90 minutes) saved.

On Tuesday, Oct. 12, Mt. SAC will defend its five-game winning streak at home in an SCC contest against El Camino (10-1, 1-1), which suffered its first loss of the season, a 4-1 defeat against Rio Hondo College (8-1-2, 2-0). Game time is set for 5 p.m.
