(Walnut, CA) And the zeros keep mounting for the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer team! Goal keepers Edwyn Gutierrez and Diego Orelllana help the Mounties record their ninth shutout on Friday October 20 over Long Beach City College, 4-0, in a South Coast Conference crossover game. Mt. SAC improved to 12-2-2 overall with the victory.

After sophomore forward Andre Gamboa (assist by Alexis Diaz-Paya) gave Mt. SAC a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute, freshman forward Jose Santoyo took over from there.

For the first time this season a Mountie player, Santoyo, recorded three goals in one game.

In a two-minute span near the end of the first half, Santoyo and freshman midfielder Randy De Los Santos combined for two quick goals (43rd and 45th minute) for the 3-0 Mt. SAC lead.

The same pair clicked for a third time early in the second half with a fourth goal in the 52nd minute.

Gutierrez turned away five Vikings shots and Orellana four, in the game for their second combined shutout of the season.

The Mounties play two SCC North games this week against Compton on Tuesday (6 pm) and ELAC on Friday (6 pm). Both games are at the Mountie soccer complex.
