Mountie Men's Golf places eighth at SoCal Regionals

(Industry, CA) In a field of 10 teams, the Mt. San Antonio College Men's Golf team placed eighth with 793 points in the two-round California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Championship on Monday, May 8, at the par-71 Industry Hills Golf Club. Saddleback College took first with 741 points, while College of the Desert (761 points) and Riverside City College (770) came in second and third, respectively.

Ethan Thomas led the Mounties with a one-over-par 72 first-round score, following that up with par in the next round to finish with 143 points. Kobe Trujillo (82-77, 159), Keefe Pantayatiwon (85-75, 160), Brandon Winters (81-81, 162), and Eric Fernandez (88-81, 169) rounded out the team scoring for Mt. SAC.

Saddleback's Carson Adams (68-72) carded the competition's best score with a two-under-par 140.

The CCCAA State Championships will take place on Monday, May 15, at the Dragonfly Golf Club in Madera, CA.
