Mt. SAC Men’s Golf finished second in OEC Match No. 4

(Riverside, CA) For the second time this season, the Mt. SAC Men's Golf team finished second in Orange Empire Conference Inland Division action.

OEC Match No. 4 was held at the Victoria Country Club, hosted by Riverside City College on Monday (April 4).

A big reason for their second-place finish was the play of four of the five golfers' scores were all in the '70s. Leading the way was Felix Tsui with a 1-under Par 71.

Tsui had five pars and a birdie on the front nine for a 1-over 36, followed by two birdies and seven pars on the back nine.

Tsui carded the second-lowest score for that round, followed by Ethan Thomas (72), Brandon Winters (74) and Mark McCabe (77). Trevor Ruiz had an 80. Aaron Fekin finished with an 81.

RCC finished first on the day with a team total of 371. The Mounties followed with a 374, College of the Desert had a 376 and Mt. San Jacinto came in six strokes back with a 402. Victor Valley didn't score.

Two more matches remain before the conference finals, with a Neutral Site coming up next on April 18 at Soboba Springs, followed by Match No. 5 at the Mountie home course, Via Verde Country Club on April 20.

With the first-place finish by RCC, they are now tied for first in the Inland Division with COD with identical 27-7 records. Mt. SAC remains in third at 18-16.
