Men's Basketball advances to Skip Robinson Tourney championship with win over L.A. Southwest

(Pasadena, CA) Following a 95-72 opening-round win against Antelope Valley (2-2) on Thursday, Mt. SAC (4-1) defeated Los Angeles Southwest (4-1) by the score of 83-71 in the second round of the Skip Robinson Classic at Pasadena City College on Friday.

Shaquil Bender led the Mounties in scoring with 23 points as teammates Jamal Edmonson and Lowrance McClain added 16 and 11, respectively. Christian Jones grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for Mt. SAC while Edmonson had eight. Dyren Brown also had seven rebounds in the winning effort.

The Mounties dominated in the paint, outscoring the Cougars there, 54-32.

Mt. SAC will face Barstow College (3-3) in the tournament championship game on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. at PCC.
