Citrus hands Men's Basketball season-opening setback

(Glendora, CA) Host Citrus College (1-0) handed Mt. SAC (0-1) a 93-79 defeat on Thursday in both teams' first game of the 2021-22 season.

Shaquil Bender led the Mounties with 22 points as teammates Justyn Hunter and Jamal Edmonson added 17 and 16 points, respectively. Edmonson also led the team in rebounding with 11.

The Owls' Leonard Turner led all players in scoring with 25 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Mt. SAC will host Grossmont (0-1) in the Mt. SAC/Gene Victor Tournament on Friday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m., and Glendale (2-0) on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 12 p.m.
