L.A. Harbor capitalizes on Mountie turnovers, cruises to SCC crossover win

(Walnut, CA) With the score tied at 22, Los Angeles Harbor (8-9) took the lead for good on a three-pointer with 6:15 remaining in the first half of an eventual 73-63 South Coast Conference crossover win against host Mt. SAC (7-9) on Wednesday night.

Cyree Dunnell led the Mounties with 16 points off the bench while teammates Israel Mansker and Daniel DeJoya added 12 and 10, respectively. Shallamar Poole grabbed nine rebounds for Mt. SAC, which outrebounded the Seahawks, 40-25. Mansker and Akinola Branco had eight boards each for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC outplayed Harbor in several key categories, including points in the paint (40-36) and bench scoring (20-8), but committed 30 turnovers that resulted in 38 Seahawk points.

Quincy Pinkard led all scorers with 24 points for the Seahawks, which led by as many as 20 in the second half.

The Mounties travel to Compton for their final SCC crossover game of the season on Friday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m., then start divisional play at Los Angeles Trade Tech on Jan. 23.
