Men’s Basketball Falls to Host Pasadena City College, 67-56 in Skip Robinson Consolation Final

(Pasadena, CA) After defeating L.A. Trade Tech on the second day of the Skip Robinson Basketball Classic to advance to the consolation final, the Mounties fell to host Pasadena City College 67-56 Saturday Nov. 18.

Mt. SAC (2-4) opened the tournament with a 76-70 overtime loss to L.A. Valley on Thursday November 16.

In the loss to Pasadena City College, the Mounties were led by 6 foot 9 forward Minfeke Sanoe with 13 points (6-11 FG) and a game-high 14 rebounds. Guard Josiah Yarde added 10 points (3-6 FT) and six rebounds.

Forward Bryce Knox and guard Marc Howard Jr. had seven points apiece for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC trailed by just three points 23-20 with 6:39 left in the first half, but the Lancers went on a 16-3 run for a 16-point halftime advantage, 39-23.

Mt. SAC, behind 10 points from Sanoe, outscored PCC by five points but was not enough as the Lancers would go on to win by 11-points.

After losing the opening game of the tournament in OT to L.A. Valley, 76-70, the Mounties rebounded in game two and had an 11-point victory over L.A. Trade Tech (67-56) to advance to the consolation final.

Sanoe led all scorers against L.A. Trade Tech with 17 points and had 11 rebounds. Mt. SAC's 6-4 guard Evan Council came off the bench and had 12 points. 

On December 1-3, Mt. SAC will host the annual Mountie Classic with six teams that includes – Cerritos, Orange Coast, Imperial Valley, Middlebrooks Academy and Merritt College (Oakland).
