Mountie Men's Basketball Defeats Pasadena City College, 80-72, for SCC North Win!

(Pasadena, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Basketball team was led by four players in double figures, with sophomore guard Nick Brown leading the way with 17 points, en route to an, 80-72, South Coast Conference North win over Pasadena City College Wednesday night.

The win keeps the Mounties (15-9, 5-2) within a game of first-place Chaffey College.

In the first half Mt. SAC struggled early, even down by 15 at one point, but managed to only trail by nine at halftime, 38-29.

The Mounties had a big second half outscoring the Lancers by 17 points for the eight-point victory.
Sophomore guard Ryon O'Quinn (4-8 FG, 7-9 FT, 16 pts.), sophomore guard Charlie Evans, IV (6-8 FT, 4 asst., 3 steals, 12 pts.) and freshman guard Josh Johnson (4-5 FG, 5 RB, 10 pts.) led the Mounties.

Brown made 6 of 9 field goals, which included 5 of 8 from beyond the arc and grabbed six boards and had a steal.

Mt. SAC out-rebounded the Lancers, 43-37, with O'Quinn grabbing a game-high 10 boards.
"The guys were able to pick it up offensively and on the defensive end in the second half," Mt. SAC coach Clark Maloney said.
