(Walnut, CA) All is well again for Mt. SAC Football after a convincing 49-19 National Division win over visiting Orange Coast College Saturday night at Covina District Field.

After a tough loss to No. 1 state-ranked Fullerton Hornets last week, the Mounties offense is back where it belongs, lighting up the scoreboard with a 42 point per game average along with averaging 499 yards per game after five games this season.

With the victory the CCCAA No. 11 State ranked Mounties raised their record to 4-1 overall and will begin National Division Central Conference action after the bye weekend against Long Beach City College at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

"This was a good win to get back on track," Mt. SAC coach Bob Jastrab said. "The offense did a great job rushing the ball and managing the game.

"The defense came up big with a couple of goal line stands and five turnovers."

With freshman quarterback Jaiave Magalei still out, sophomore Richard Stammetti stepped up and threw for a game-high three touchdowns. He connected for 13 of 22 passes for 152 yards to eight different receivers.

Sophomore wide receiver Brice Hoenisch caught two passes for a team-high 62 yards and two TDs, while freshman running back Hykeem Massey had a game-high 127 yards rushing on 11 carries and a touchdown.

For the third time this season the Mounties totaled over 500 (538) yards of offense.

After Orange Coast took a 12-7 lead early in the second quarter, the Mounties reeled off six consecutive TDs before a late OCC score to win going away.

Trailing 12-7, Mt. SAC scored three times on the ground on a 34-yard score by Massey, 21-yard run by Stammetti and 19-yard run by freshman running back Asfunso Elam (75 yards, 8 carries) for the 28-12 halftime lead.

The Mounties continued the offensive onslaught with three more TDs in a row in the second half.

Sophomore wide receiver Cameron Coleman (3 catches, 34 yards) started the spree with a 23-yard pass from Stammetti, followed by a 15-yard pass to Hoenisch and finally a 2-yard run by sophomore running back Demetre Carter (4 carries, 20 yards) for the 49-12 lead with 8:46 left in the game.
