
(Walnut, CA) Mt. SAC's, Suli Tamaivena, was named the Southern California Football Association's (SCFA) Week 5 Central Conference, Defensive Player of the Week. The 6'2", 225 lb. Sophomore Linebacker from Palo Alto High School shined this past weekend, by recording 5 quarterback sacks and 13 solo tackles (16 tackles total, 7 tackles for loss). He also accounted for a forced fumble, 2 pass breakups, and 3 quarterback hurries in the double overtime loss to Long Beach City College.

The ninth ranked Mounties (2-3) travel to Grossmont College (2-3) this weekend to face off against the #14 Griffins for a mid-season non-conference crossover game. Mt. SAC will continue conference play the following Saturday when they travel a few miles north to face cross town rival Citrus College (0-5). Both games are set for 1 pm.
