Mt. SAC’s Michael Flores pitches seven innings of 3-hit baseball to defeat PCC, 7-0

(Walnut, CA) Mt. SAC sophomore Michael Flores pitched seven innings, allowed three hits, and struck out 12 batters in a 7-0 win over visiting Pasadena City College Friday (March 24).

Flores, with the win, improved to 3-2 on the season. Sam Silversmith and Joey Peralta each relieved an inning and preserved the shutout.

Leading the way for the Mounties was freshman left fielder Joey Rossetti (2 for 3, R, Dbl.) with three RBIs, while sophomore third baseman Alex Reynoso (2 for 2, 2 Rs) also collected two hits.

Leading 1-0, the Mounties scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings, for a 7-0 lead.

In the fifth, Rossetti doubled in a run and catcher CJ Ontiveros (1 for 4, 2 RBIs) singled in two more runs. Highlighting the sixth, Rossetti singled in two more runs for the Mounties.
